Two teens have been arrested in Bauchi for allegedly stealing a newborn.

Two teens have been detained by the Bauchi State Police Command for allegedly stealing a baby girl.
The suspects, Hajara Usman (19) of Ishehi Hamlet and Ibrahim Usman’m’ (18) of Dugurgama Hamlet, were reported to have broken into the mother’s flat after she had just given birth and fled with the newborn infant.
On Tuesday, July 23, 2023, one Adamu Baka (55 years old) of Galawa area, Akuyam district of Misau local government area reported to Akuyam outstation that unknown persons intruded into his daughter’s flat and fled with her kid.
According to a statement released to press on Thursday by the Command’s spokesman, SP. Ahmed Mohammed Wakil, “on receipt of the report, a team of detectives was immediately mobilised and earnestly swung into action, eventually arresting the hoodlums.”
“The abducted baby was recovered from one Hajara Usman ‘f’, aged 19yrs of Ishehi Hamlet, who conspired with one Ibrahim Usman’m’, aged 18yrs of Dugurgama Hamlet to abduct the baby.”
The inquiry is still underway, according to the statement, and the suspects will be profiled and charged in court at the conclusion of the probe.
