Opeyemi Bamidele is elected Majority Leader as the Senate names its major offices.

The top officials of the 10th Senate, who were elected by agreement, have been identified, according to Senate President Godswill Akpabio.
Senator Ali Ndume of Borno State is the new Chief Whip, and Senator Lola Ashiru of Kwara State is the new Deputy Chief Whip.
The Senate Leader is Senator Opeyemi Bamidele of Ekiti State.
The Deputy Senate Leader is Senator Dave Umahi of Ebonyi State.
Godswill Akpabio (APC, Akwa Ibom North-west) emerged as Senate President in the weeks following the presidential elections, while Barau Jibrin (APC, Kano North) became as Deputy Senate President.
The plenary has only been held twice since the 10th Assembly’s inception.
The first took place on inauguration day, and the second on June 14, when a 15-member Welfare Committee was formed to award offices and seats to the new senators.
Isah Jibrin (Kogi East) chairs the committee, which is assisted by Darlington Nwokocha.
Ekpenyong Asuquo, Saliu Mustapha, Dandutse Mohammed, Francis Fadahunsi, Shuaibu Salisu, Aminu Abass, and Ibrahim Dankwambo are also members.
Ireti Kingibe, Idiat Adebule, Ipalibo Banigo, Dave Umahi, Barinnada Degi-Ereminyo, and Bomoi Ibrahim Mohammed are among the others.
