The Katsina State Government (KTSG) has disclosed its plan to conduct recruitment examinations aimed at employing 7,000 teachers across the state. This significant initiative is part of KTSG’s commitment to enhancing the quality of education and ensuring that qualified and competent educators are entrusted with shaping the future of Katsina’s students.
The Deputy Governor of Katsina State, Malam Faruk Lawal Jobe, made this announcement during the inauguration of the committee responsible for conducting the recruitment examinations. In his office, he highlighted the scope of the exercise, which encompasses two categories of candidates: 5,000 NCE/Diploma holders currently teaching in primary schools and 2,000 graduates serving as teachers in secondary schools.
Malam Faruk Lawal Jobe also emphasized the importance of reviewing the recent recruitment process, which saw the hasty employment of 3,889 teachers by the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB). These individuals will also be required to undergo the same recruitment examinations to ensure that only competent and qualified candidates are absorbed into the teaching service. The Deputy Governor further elaborated on the rigorous methods that will be employed throughout the recruitment processes to uphold fairness and integrity.
Earlier, the Secretary to the Government of the State, Architect Ahmad Musa Dangiwa, introduced the committee members and the educational consultancy firm entrusted with the task of preparing the examinations. Architect Dangiwa urged the committee to execute their duties with utmost fairness and impartiality. The committee, chaired by Dr. Sabi’u Ɗahiru and with Lurwanu Haruna Gona serving as Secretary, has been granted a four-week period to complete and submit its report.
The KTSG is committed to building a strong and vibrant educational system, and this recruitment drive is a crucial step towards achieving that goal. By prioritizing merit and competence in the selection process, KTSG aims to enhance the quality of education provided to the students of Katsina State.
