According to the Kaduna Police Command, during the course of the week, 207 individuals were detained in connection with phone snatching and other offenses.
The command’s public relations officer, DSP Muhammad Jalige, said in a statement that the arrest was in keeping with the operational strategies of the Inspector General of Police, Olukayode Egbetokun. He also said that the command had ordered ongoing raids on designated “black spots” in response to the public outcry regarding criminal activity in the Kaduna metropolis and its surroundings.
He added that investigations are still ongoing but claimed that the arrests were made in various places around the state.
Jalige affirmed that certain suspects have been charged in court while others are presently the subject of thorough investigations, following which they will also be arraigned in courts with the necessary jurisdiction.
