BREAKING: Tinubu government, NLC, and TUC hold emergency meeting on planned statewide strike

The Federal Government of President Bola Tinubu is now meeting with representatives of the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, and Trade Union Congress, TUC.

The emergency meeting is currently taking place at the Presidential Villa in Abuja. The conference was called at the request of the Federal Government’s negotiation committee.

This was against the backdrop of the NLC’s strike notice issued earlier that day.

While the NLC delegation is led by National President Joe Ajaero, the TUC delegation is led by national president, Festus Osifo.

Remember when the NLC issued a seven-day ultimatum to the government over the current increase in petrol prices?

On Wednesday, NLC spokesperson Mr Ben Upah informed DAILY POST about the warning strike.

The nationwide strike, he claims, will begin on August 2, 2023.
