According to ESPN reporter Adam Schefter, quarterback Dwayne Haskins of the Pittsburgh Steelers died at the age of 24 after being struck by a car in south Florida. This material was supplied to Schefter by Cedric Saunders, Haskins’ representative.
Haskins joins the Steelers prior to the 2021 season and appeared to be in the running for the starting quarterback role this season following Ben Roethlisberger’s retirement.
Details are scant at the time, but we will provide any updates we receive as they become available. For the time being, our thoughts are with Haskins’ family. Haskins attended Ohio State and was selected by Washington in the first round of the 2019 NFL Draft.
Presumably, Haskins was in South Florida on the invitation of Mitch Trubisky, who had asked his new teammates to work out and get to know one another at his home.
