According to investigators, a robber with a bright orange wig was captured boldly throwing a cinder block through the glass of a stopped cab in Manhattan to take an iPhone and $40 cash.
As they sauntered along West 37th Street near Hudson Yards last Thursday with the big block in hand, the suspect, wearing all in black with an animal-pattern purse, appeared to be completely aware they were being videotaped.
Someone can be heard questioning the robber, who was continuously looking at the camera, “What are you doing?”
The bold-haired robber then throws the cinder block through the driver-side window, climbs inside, and flees, discarding the orange wig along the way.

The cab was stopped between 9th and 10th Avenues on West 37th Street while the 58-year-old driver went to the restroom.
The culprit, who police believe is female, fled with a $300 iPhone 8 and $40 in cash, according to police.
