The Alabama resident posted a detailed statement on Instagram in what appeared to be a cry for help, revealing that she was on the verge of suicide. The Warner Music Group artist has previously spoken openly about her mental health struggles. Chika, who is 25 years old, admitted on Instagram that she was on the verge of throwing herself off the top of The Intercontinental in Los Angeles.

Chika’s lengthy Instagram story reveals that she had suicidal thoughts but refrained from acting on them because the metal stairs of the Intercontinental were terrifying. “I made it to the top of the intercontinental, but I couldn’t take a step forward or jump. Not because I don’t want to, but because the metal stairs were frightening. That’s the problem with having a f***ed mind. There will always be something holding you back, no matter how much pain you are in. It’s exhausting and depressing.”

Thank you for the ride; I really didn’t enjoy it.” TMZ obtained an update on the situation, revealing that police were dispatched to Chika’s North Hollywood apartment to conduct a welfare check, but she was not present. Last April, the emcee caused concern among her fans when she deactivated her Twitter account after posting a series of concerning tweets.
