Senator Patrick Osakwe has died at the age of 73.

Senator Patrick Enebeli Osakwe, who represented Delta State’s Delta North Senatorial District from 1999 to 2007, has died.

On Tuesday night, he died in a London hospital at the age of 73.

Senator Patrick Osakwe, a native of Ugili in the Ndokwa West Local Government Area, died after battling an undisclosed illness, according to reports.

Meanwhile, Hon Sheriff Oborevwori, Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, has expressed regret over the former Senator’s death.

Mr. Dennis Otu, Oborevwori’s Chief Press Secretary, said the news of the former Senator’s death came as a shock to him and urged the approximation of the late Senator’s footprints.

“The death of Senator Patrick Osakwe is a big blow not only to his immediate family but to all Deltans in particular and Nigerians in general,” said the Speaker, who is also the Deputy National Chairman of the Nigerian Conference of Speakers of State Legislatures. He died at a crucial point in his career, when his vast knowledge was needed the most. He will be sorely missed by all of us.

“As a caring leader, he made a positive difference in a lot of people’s lives.” Senator Patrick Osakwe was a successful businessman and a well-known politician who passed away recently.”

Oborevwori asked for more prayers for God’s comforting arms to be extended to his family and friends, as well as for his soul’s repose.
