Drake, the Canadian famous rapper, has lost over $275,000 after wagering heavily on Jorge Masvidal, who was defeated by Colby Covington in a unanimous decision on Sunday.
Covington entered his fight with his bitter foe, Masvidal, as the bookies’ favorite, having just lost by decision to UFC welterweight champion Kamaru Usman in his previous fight.
In his two battles versus Usman, the 34-year-old had a better time than Masvidal had in his two tries to become champion.
Despite Masvidal’s superior striking ability inside the cage, Covington was the younger man with more tools at his disposal.
Despite the fact that the odds indicated that the obvious favorite for the fight was Masvidal, Grammy award winning musician Drake chose to invest a quarter-million dollars on Masvidal to win the battle.

And Drake’s gamble backfired, as Covington dominated Masvidal for the most of the five rounds, putting him down on many times and keeping him on the mat for extended amounts of time.
Following the revelation of Covington as the winner, attention quickly shifted to Drake’s wager, and reactions quickly followed, with fans taking to Twitter to share their thoughts on what the result meant for Drake himself.
